I am having a conversation with russ about my misc. small pieces. The turned out lighter than i originally thought at about 3.5 lbs total. I will try to post updated pics when the water clears up.

Also, when I get this rock cured out, I will likely have to do some rearranging in my tank and I may clear out some misc. smaller pieces. When I do, I will post the smaller pieces for sale at $2 a lb. The new rock is rank and uncured. The 100 lbs that I got will likely take a month or more to cure out completely. After it cures I gotta get off my lazy butt and do my aquascaping, so realistically it will be the beginning of next year.

here are some pics...a little bleached by the flash, but the rock is excellent. Mostly the pieces are large and lightweight, covered in corallines of all colors. Lots of relatively fresh halimeda and othe macro algaes

I received some really large nice looking pieces. I'll post up some pics later. I also have 2 very large pieces of coral. Travis took them home and should get some pics posted up sometime tomorrow. I hope it lives.

Just so you know.....Steph drove 5 hrs today to ensure she was here to see that everyon got their rock and all went well. I offered to keep her rock till saturday but she wanted to make sure people were happy and see this task thru to the end.

I think that goes above and beyond the call.

I also want to thank Pamela and Phillip who took time out to run by the Airport and bring this load to my house.

You guys did great.

I'm home finally. Man, I'm not sure I'll ever get this stink out of my clothes! I love this rock! Mine had several yucky worms to pick off, but a few pieces of live coral too. I'll post pics tomorrow - I had a few pieces that were quite large and several small plate like rocks.

Once I have another look, I may want to trade out some small (~5") for any larger pieces anyone would rather not have.

thank you Paul (both of you), for helping me stay organized and to everyone who purchased so we could get a bargain.

If everyone is as please as I think they will be, I see another group buy a few months down the road.

Without going into a giant, detailed speech. Just take this as a summary of my true thankfullness to all of those that were involved getting the order placed, dealing with the money, getting the rocks, and so on and so on. There was some REALLY cool stuff. Too bad it was dead. But as most of us know, give it time and these rocks will have stuff running all over the place. We found a rather large, live bristleworm on Radcat's rocks as well as two HUGE pieces of corals. I can't wait to post pictures. The name of the coral is on the tip of my tongue, but I'm going to have to go peek around at some websites to double check. I want to say that they're a Pachyseris species. Most likely Pachyseris speciosa. Here are some pictures of the real P. speciosa.

And this is what came in with Radcat's rock. He took my rocks to cure, and I took his corals in hopes that they will survive after drying out for so long. Hopefully the corals will feel like it's just a long low tide :lmao:

Here are both corals in my 29g tank under the actinics at 11pm. They take up almost half of the tank alone. The large one on top is about 12" x 8" and the smaller one is about 10" x 6". They are the two large pieces on the left hand side if you couldn't tell.

Here is the large piece. When we first saw the rocks, I wasn't sure if they recently died and were just becoming covered in a brown film algae, or if that was tissue left deep within the skeleton. But, there are two dead spots on the large one indicating that the coral is still alive.

And here is a close up of the smaller piece. It most likely won't make it. It looks to be in bad shape and there isn't much live coral on it. But hopefully it will pull through.

You might consider fragging off the livelier looking parts. But perhaps that sort of advice would be best from the other Paul (who would know better).
