Group Buy: Refractometers

Ah... I already quoted another club, so it'll stand. $1 each will come out to $20 or so from your club, and that will cover shipping easily. As far as "getting paid" I'm already benefitting from adding you guys in with the cheaper price I got at my own club.

So... here are totals:

$1 to cover shipping
$2 to cover Paypal fees

Refractometer: $23 total each
Calibration Fluid alone: $4 each
Refractometer + fluid: $25.75 total each

Thank you everyone who has already paid. It has occured to me that I may have been a little misleading in my original post. I mentioned I would front the costs. That message was copied/pasted from my local club's forums, where I personally know everyone getting involved. Unfortunately, I'm not able to extend this to distant clubs. I'm sorry about that.

Bringing MARS into this group buy was mutually beneficial. Of course, you guys get in on a great price, but of course, our club would not have hit the 40 unit price break without you. Your participation is greatly appreciated! However, most of you I will never meet (we oughta arrange an inter-club event, eh?), so I need to ask you guys to be as prompt as possible with the Paypal payments, please.

Since Edwin (Nu2SW) is coordinating the purchasing on the MARS side, I am wondering if he is taking orders from non-MARS members. There have been several non-MARS member who wanted to join the group buy, but it would presumptuous to assume that Edwin is willing to deal with trying to get things to non-MARS members.

jwedehase - thanks again for coordinating the group buy. It makes PERFECT sense why you are not willing to front the money for people you don't know.
 
I was concerned about that myself, Reefugee. When I originally started this group buy, I didn't think I wanted to manage it beyond my own club (CVR). We've hit 20 some odd units. By adding you guys in, everyone saves $5, which is cool. But I also wanted to make sure I extended the offer just because our clubs have worked well together, in my experience (a couple of swaps, and WMC [which rocked]).

That said... Edwin, please let me know if I've put you in an akward position. Group buys are a member only benefit at CVR, and I sort of ran in here and opened the doors wide, and dumped management on you. I honestly didn't think that far into the potential of this buy, nor did I ever expect such huge participation (though I'm very happy so many people are benefitting).

So yeah.. Edwin, if I need to fix/change anything, please let me know.
 
I think this time is fine. I dont mind having the non-members coming over to my place and picking an order. I personally do not see anything wrong with non-members in the buy, As this is my first year with the group, I am not familiar with what has been done in the past. I think anyone willing to pay you thru paypal shows there intent and they get to benefit from the buy. Ultimately, We are all Reefers and get benefits from being a community.

Also if brian has anything to notate about it, Please let us know. I say this since he will be the new president for the coming year.
