Group buy

I'll give him a call today and see what he says about these fish that aren't on the list.

I also asked the diver for an updated list and what he thinks will be available when it's time to order.

that is correct, but I'm not sure exactly what, I'd say just request it and see if he can get it or not.

Should I post it here or on the other thread?

See if he can get and has prices for:

Discordipinna griessingeri

Amblygobius rainfordi

Ok, so are we all meeting up in Bloomington to divide the order up? and if so, at what time will this be? Has this been decided yet?

it all depends on the flight time, I'll leave a note in this thread when I'm leaving and a number to call me at. I'll update the thread when I get back.

This is if I'm the one who heads up there, which I'm 95% sure I will be at this time.

yo people,

a bit of a clarification...

when brad and i came up with an average per fish shipping cost, we did so thinking that no one would be ordering Naso Surgeonfish. i mean, how many CIMA members can really maintain a 24" long fish in their aquarium, right?

well, so far we have like 8 Naso's on order.

as i've been explaining to everyone that orders one of those, you should expect your per fish shipping cots to increase SUBSTANTIALLY. we will be charged $60 per box to ship. we calculated an average of 6 or 7 fish per box. for wrasses, hawks, etc., this should be right on. the diver has told us a max of 2 Naso's can fit per box. do the math an you will see anyone ordering a Naso will be responsible for $30 shipping per fish at the minimum. no exceptions.

I'm out anyway. I can't take the chance that I won't be around when the fish are shipped, since we don't exactly know which weekend it will be.

fwiw, pet supply center in bloomington has 2 nasos in stock for $29 each...

Henry was refering to the XL Nasos that the diver can get, i.e 12 inches +

yeah who knows what "small" will be when we order. a 2" naso won't be an issue, but if "small naso" means a 6 - 8" fish, $9 won't cover the shipping.

I have no idea what his small is. Or what size Naso are when they get the trailers on their fins. I know the blue throats he sent out to the CO group were all 6 - 8 icnhes. Which is a good price for that fish being that big.
