Anyone interested in a group buy?

I found somewhere that has unreal prices, a whole seller in Hawaii.

Some of his prices are,

Yellow Tang $8
Mystery Wrasse $70
Lineatus Wrasse $70
Laboutie Wrasse $70
Crosshatch female $120
Crosshatch male $180
Achllies tang $20
Naso $15

He has a huge list of fish and some inverts and I have a spreadsheet that lists all prices if anyone wants to see it. Shipping is $55 a box and I have to go to O’Hare or midway to pick it up.

I'd like to keep this order fairly small (1 box) as the shipping will be slit with who ever wants to get in on the order. and I'd like to keep this local unless your willing to come right over to my place when I get the LS back.

The prices this company has are unbeatable and most of the LS is %50 - %75 less than anywhere else online.

i am interested in both a laboutie and a lineatus, but whether or not i will actually be able to order them will depend heavily on when the order is placed. just keep me informed.

I'm not planning on doing this for a couple of weeks, as I don't have the $ right now either and am torn between what I want + I need to cycle some bio balls in my main tank for QT

And on the list I have there are 122 fsh and 15 inverts.

I just spoke with the owner and he said Lineatus will not be until early September. And most of the other Aussie stuff will not be in until September

The unicorn tangs he has listed for $50 are large and all have a horn. Once they get a horn there price goes from $35 online to $130

Also anyone wanting to place a order will need to get the money to me before the order is placed. And since I have to drive to Chicago to pick these up I'd like for everyone to give a few $ for gas. Shouldn't cost me anymore than $25 in the Civic to go there and back.

Is it ok for us to contact him directly, or should we route questions through you? He has Helfrichi Firefish listed, but doesn't have a price for them. If they are available and priced like the rest of his stuff I might be in for a pair.

Yeah if you want to contact him go ahead, I was planning on holding this order off until early September as he doesn't get his fish from down under until then. And that's quite a few on the list.

It would be a Sunday that these would get here as it works best for him and me.

Also the weather isn't as hot then, well at least it shouldn't be. Hopefully the fish will ship a little better.

One more thing, these fish are only covered to show up alive and I have to get pics emailed to him with in 24 hours or no money will be refunded.

This is pretty much how fish whole sellers work.

Ok I just called Alex the owner of this company and he seemed like a nice guy. He dives and catches all the fish he has for sale him self.

I spoke with him about how his alive guarantee works and basically we have 24 hours after I pick the fish up to get a full refund. And he has to have a pic in that time.

Also he doesn't get very many helfrichi in and doesn't catch them but does trade them with other wholesalers and said he might be able to get one or two for us.

He added that any rare fish we want can be requested and put aside and held for a while so we get it.

Alex only ships Delta for now, here are there costs

It will probably be around $40 a box + $15 box charge. Although I will not know the exact amount until I get to the airport.

as i said in PM, after a little looking around, this business has been on the RC radar before and from what RC staff members can tell everything is run in accordance to CITES and other regulations. seems like a nice find :thumbsup:
