Growing sponges.

I noticed some sponge (well a lot) of it growing on my rocks. I was wondering if it's possible to cut a little bit off and attach to some rubble and "grow" it in a separate tank.

If it is possible are some specific things I need to know? Or can I just put some saltwater in another tank with some rock and a power head, heater, filter and they'll grow?

The reason is so I can feed a moorish idol that I MIGHT keep when I upgrade my tank.

Hmmmmmm I have a sponge and as long as the flow is good and water quality they should grow fine. Low lighting for bacterial growth in the tank sponges dont need the lighting. As long as u dont expose the sponges to air they should grow
