Growth On True Perc

I have a pair of True Percs. About a week ago I noticed the female had a white growth on her pelvic fin. It looked like a parasite to me so I tried a few short freshwater dips. She didn’t enjoy those one bit. The growth seems to be much more loose than it was a week ago but there is now a faint red streak running up the fin from the point the “growth” is attached. Now I notice something similar starting on the same fin on the male,

Anyone have ideas on what this might be and or treatment?

I'm gonna guess sight unseen that it's a fungal infection. I would remove them and treat them with Myracin II for SW. Or....
Leave it alone and monitor it. It may pass.
My copperband had it at first, but it went away.

Thanks for your reply. Here is a picture from a week ago after an unsuccessful attempt to remove the object with tweezers.

The object is hanging off more at this time, but the male has a small one that has just started.

Yeah... my response remains the same. Give it some time and maybe do a water change. Reduce any sources of possible stress.

Dont do anything to the fish... its lymp. (lymphosystis spelling may be off) It appears in recently caught fish right around 3-4 weeks. There is no 100% cure & it causes no great harm unless it grows in the gills or over the mouth. It will fall off in a few weeks on its own, unless you continue to dip it in random things and stress the fish into dieing.
