Growth Rate: Blue Tang

As the title say i was wondering how fast blue tangs grow in a suitable tank and is there any difference in growth rate if put in an unsuitable tank?

i had a blue tang at 3/4" and within 6 months as well over 3-3 1/2"

If we are talking regal and not caribbean blue, then mine went from about an inch to nearly 7 in just over a year.
