Trying to decide if I have growth in this ORA

My shrimp like to hang out on it at feeding time which I think is why it has bad PE

compared to the frog spawn not a lot. theres a little, same goes for what looks like the spongodes below.

have any pests that you know of?

Not seeing any growth at all, still early depending on when in july you added it. My last ORA the marshall blue tip bottle brush took a while to settle in and start growing. Its looking a little brown, is it needing more light or are you having some tank params off?

You should have seen some growth by now. Color and PE are poor, look at the first pick and then the second. The newer pic is a lot browner and lighter. Something is causing the frag bot to be happy.

PE doesn't nessicarily mean much, I've seen tanks w/ harliquin filefish in them that have absolutely zero PE , but still grow like crazy and have great color. Also the brown area is on what has now become the bottom because of the way he mounted it.

Hard to tell, since PE from first pic makes it difficult to see branches clearly.

I think it is a fairly moot point, since any growth is minimal.

Still needs to adjust to the new world it lives in now. PE is a big health indicator for sps, if PE is poor something is causing it. Whether its from a shrimp hanging out on it to fish species or whatever. Just give it time, maybe try moving it.

Agreed. Something in your water or system is not making that coral happy. I would test your water and also check for pests but I don't think it is that just yet.

Agreed with the above posts about PE, but too I've had a ton of ORA pieces that didn't grow for a month or two and then took off. Maybe just some more time, but I would maybe move it to a slightly different location just to see if you notice a difference.

Im gonna chime in, there is little growth, but you can see a bit on every arm. The brown color is from his flash, none of our corals look great with a camera flash. The color looks pretty close to the first pic.
Tell us your parameters as well as your daily activities, how are you replacing your evaporation, do you dose, what do your feed, what supplements are you using?

You have growth on the two right branches for sure - just not much.

I do notice some recession at the base on the second picture. That coupled with the fact that the base has not spread at all, would lead me to believe that you have an Alkalinity fluctuation issue. Like maybe you are dosing a lot at all at once, or your water changes don't match your tank water.

Give us some parameters, and how you are testing, plus everything everyone else said.

I agree with I think it is my camera. I can see excellent growth on most of the SPS in the tank. I can post wate quality later today it is testing day anyhow.

Let me see if I can find some other pictures. And I found my receipt I just got that the first of Aug, but it is starting to cover the top of the plug with some branch growth.

I think the PE is bad because of feeding and I turned off the powerhead on that side of the tank.

You do have some growth but not as much as you should. It could still be getting used to the tank and growth could explode soon if all parameters are good..

Not much growth for that coral. If I am not mistaken that is the Purple Plasma. It was a very fast grower for me. One of the faster of the ORA's that I have had. With that being said, if your other SPS is growing, and this one is not, then it has to be placement.
