growth?

what would you guys say is an adv. rate of growth for acans?

I have 3 acan lords now and I've had one for about 6 months and it started out with 6 heads and it has only spit out 1 more since I got it. I use to spot feed the acan when I had it in my 29 gallon because it was easier to get my hand down in there but now since I have a 75 gallon I don't spot feed that often anymore. I believe if I feed it more it would do better.

These factors should help with growth IMO...
-spot feeding it frequently
-good light
-good placement in tank with minimum flow
