I think mangroves root into your sandbed and feed on the bad stuff, so works as a filter like Cheato and such.
But a mangrove is an actual tree so can grow out of your tank .

We had a mangrove in the store that grew out the top of the tank and past the lighting, then it slowed down.

also you need to make sure the leaves don't decompose in your tank, that's where all the bad nutrients go and i will hook you up moses i am ordering a few.

so is it 5 red mangroves for 5 dollars??? if so i would prob want some. also....what macro algaes would not be invasive (SP?) and look nice in a tank on there, cause i want to add some to the display as a filler.

Yup, its 5 mangroves for $5. So, its $1 each mangrove.
