I have bred clarks in the past and this is my first try at maroons. They are 13 days old and a few are fighting fairly nasty. any suggestions?

Very common with them. You could either try a high concentration of them in the tank (pack more fish per gallon than what you already have) or put a bigger fish in with them. I have never tried either method because my pair are "on break", but that is what everyone seems to be suggesting. Hope this helps!

Keeping them at higher densities seems to spread the agression around a little bit. I don't know what it means really, but I have seen in my own tanks that better water quality and more frequent feedings seems to reduce agression with maroons. Good luck with them
