2 months ago I purchased an anemone I thought it was healthy, however I have learned that it was not as healthy as it could have been.
Within 1 month it got quite a bit darker, probably because it is directly under a 250w MH. I was very happy. I went out and bought a GSM to host in it. The anemone was about 4" wide and the clown was about 3" the clown took right to the anemone, however the clown gets inside and wiggles and squirms and after 2 weeks of this the anemone has retracted to about 1-2" and the bubble tips that were 2" long are about 1/4" long now, also it is more of a ball shape and the clown cannot host in it anymore.
My guess is that the anemone was irritated by the clown and has arranged himself in a way that the clown can no longer bother him.
I have only fed him what he captures when I feed the fish and I feed right over him so he usually gets something. But now with his new body configuration and no real tentacles he is not getting anything to eat.
I was taking a watch and see approach, but it has been about 2 weeks and I am getting concerned. Even though his color seems to be improving almost daily.
Now, my question is this if this was your anemone what would you do?
