GSM Pair: what size tank

well. they dont use alot of room, they really enjoy hosting somthing and sticking in that spot. but females can reach up to 6 inches whitch is really big for that sized tank.

It would take along time for that though, and i bet within 2 years you get the bug to upgrade, so if you dont buy a giant right off the bat you should be ok

and you can dramatically effect the way a fish grows by how much you feed it.

*DISCLAIMER* im not saying to starve your fish haha. just dont overfeed.

I don't know, my pair roams most of the length of my 125. I think if you put them into a small tank, they'll beat the tar out of any other fish that you try to put in with them.

Thanks a bunch everyone. I've been trying to decide what size tank to work on after I move on May 1. I already have a 20L, but it was an emergency set up after my 30br started a slow leak. I went out today and found a 40br...perfect! I can still use my 30br stand and most of the equipment I have laying around.

i donno. i had a 45 gal with just the maroons for a long time and i was really worried about adding fish. i added a tang, they swam with it, a wrasse a dottyback, 4 anthias never attacked any of them. they are all in a 90 gal but shes wreally mellow with anything that isent another maroon lol

mine doesent swim at all. stays in the nem 24/7. she'll make a daily trip to the other anemone, but for only 5 minutes or so.

I've kept GSMs before, but being in law school, I keep having to move and tear down tanks. This 40br should last me a couple of years. Like you, I've never had a problem adding fish with a maroon clown, unless of course, it was another maroon clown. I'm going to try to find a place that sells them as a pair.

divers den has a 'pair' I dident like the stripes though, to messy. i was in phishy business yesterday and they had 2 maroons in the same tank, yellow striped, beautiful. I took a long look at them because they seemed to both be about the same size and were both dark like females.. but they were getting along. no torn fins, really nice looking. wouldent call them a pair though.. not sure.

You could call or e mail them though and ask serdars opinion. they do a great job shipping too.

edit: actually the cleveland frag swap is today. youd nbe better calling tomorrow if u do, the owner is out of town today)

Thanks for the tip, but I'm moving in May, so I'm not setting up the 40br until then. Hopefully, very early May *crosses fingers*
