GSP Algae

I have a huge colony of star polyps contained to one good sized rock. On one section of the rock is a bit of green algae. In the algae section the polyps don't open up like the rest of the colony. Is this something I should be concerned about? Should I clean it? How?

This may be a better image. I'm still trying to figure out how to get big, pretty pics on here but haven't figured it out yet.

The algae spot.is bad.news blow it.off or remove it.

in my experience that coral must have medium random.flow (indirect flow)

Good luck

Got it. Thanks. Turkey baster didn't work so well but a soft bristled toothbrush did. Moved it into a higher flow area. Probably won't open for a few days for me but it was for it's own good. Thanks all.

No worries. As Tom from TRS told me when I first started, GSPs will grow in a toilet if you throw a light on it. They'll be fine!

IME GSP/and plain green palys are nearly impossible to kill. If your algae works ill take some. lol

But seriously just dust em off, if your water quality is some what decent they will grow no matter what is on them. I covered up some GSP with a pancake size piece of aquaputty and it took weeks-months for them to die off underneath. Even then they started to grow back from tiny pieces of base flesh left behind.
