Gsp ?

my Gsp havent opened for a couple days now and i was just wondering if anyone know why they would do this?

the water flow has changed a little wee bit and they are in slightly less flow now then they were...i see the odd polyp pop out and then that is it...no full extension...

water checked this morning:
ammonia - 0
nitrite - 0
nitrate - 12
temp - 80
SG - 1.025
Ph - 8.0

i just did water change 4 days ago, and that is when i rearranged the rocks too...since then no extension...

is it just a question of flow?

tomorrow i will be doing a MJ400 mod..hopefully it doesnt mess my tank up, but it should add even more flow...

could it be that they are attached to piece of base rock and not a piece of live rock, that has got them upset? they were fine for the first three weeks..

My guess will be more flow and give them few days. I have them in 6g tank with (was MaxiJet 600) now Mini-Jet 606 - same 150-160 gph. And - mine were slow for the first weeks, but half of year later started grow even onto nearby plastic. Don't worry. They like light - something like 27W PC will be good enough.

They also just do that every now and then. Every few months mine close up for at least a week. One time it was for 3. It's kinda like a regenerating phase. Just give them time. They're almost impossible to kill anyway.

i agree with dendro. Its more than likely just a matter of flow. If you were to just wait a few days till they get used to the new flow, i'm sure they'd open up. But adding more flow wont hurt either imo.

And like reefbones said, they do this every now and then for apparently no reason lol.

But i would not worry at all if it was closed for just a couple days. My main colony of it was closed for over a month and is doing great now (it was closed cuz my nitrates shot up to 100 lol). But it lived

yeah they seem to be mostly open today...

i was also starting to wondering if my new Kenya tree that was very upset may have releasing something into the water?

but i guess not..levels today are the same as yesturday...the new Kenya tree is completely open ans standing up now, and so to is the GSP, pretty much..

LOL little upset with the kenya tree though...the colour in the fish store was indescribible (sp) beautiful bue-green colour and very intense...now that it is open and standing it is a pinky purple colour with a touch of green..

i almost feel like sticking my hand in there to scare it so it goes all compact and beautiful green again..hopefully the new 150 MH will make a drastic change it its colour when it gets here this week..

thanx for the quick and pleasent replies...even though there was a thread right below mine that i should have checked first..
