Guaging interest in 180g Reeftank

I am currently considering selling my reeftank. It has been a difficult year and with a baby about to arrive, the outlook isnt very promising for the near future. The tank is not officially for sale yet, but it might be over the next week or two. The tank will be sold as a complete package, including tank, 180G all-glass (no scratches), custom stand and custom canopy. Custom, not crappy. There are 3 IceCap 250w electronic ballasts with Reef Optix reflectors and an IceCap 660 powering 3 5-foot VHO bulbs. The return pump is a blue line (equiv to Iwaki 55) and the closed loop is an Iwaki 55. The skimmer is an ASM G3. The calcium reactor is a Precision marine 600 with a mag-drive 3. The system has an auto top-off switch and built in 15-gal tank for R/O top-off supply. It is bare-bottom with 3/4" starboard. There is no chiller as the system stays steady at 78-79. Livestock consists of ~200 lbs of live-rock (mixed figi, carribean, tonga branch). Several tangs and assorted fish (scott's wrasse, blue sided, etc...) and ~100+ corals. I have lost alot of SPS this year so i am down to mostly lps, leathers and softies, but there are still ~20 - 25 SPS colonies in the tank.

I was thinking of asking $2,000.00 for the system, would that be fair? I am open to offers and advice considering pricing. I do not have time to part out, so all must go in one sale.

Thanks.

Do the math. Figure out the retail price of each part and coral. Then figure 30-50% of retail is the range to expect. You will do better parting out. Thats a big tank and so there are fewer buyers.

I would love to see some pic's or come up to see system I am in the process of setting up big tank, could be good for both of us. My concern is moving an established tank corals an all, no time to think as your setting up with fish and coral sitting in coolers. Thinking out load maybe sell off some fish and hard to keep corals which would reduce the stress on everyone. Im in Pompano and have a p/u with padded bed.
Thanks, Fitz (Hunkafish)

For those who have asked for photos, I uploaded one which is a good representation of the stand and canopy.

This is a full tank shot from January of 07. Many of these sps have died. I had a bad experience with some bulbs I ordered online and lost the majority of my SPS. I am still dealing with the effects of the bulbs. Very sad to see where it was and where it is :(

For those interested in viewing the system, PM me and we can set something up.

As far as moving the tank with inhabitants, I have been a part of several moves and have done a coupe of my own. It is stressful for the inhabitants, but especially so for the aquarist. Nevertheless, I have never had any casualties as a result of a move and one took over 15 hours to complete.

Most of the more delicate sps have died. The remaining ones are pretty hardy and have endured quite a bit this year. As far as the system goes, I put alot of thought into the plumbing and setup therefore it shouldnt require much modification, just aquascaping and new water for the move.

Thank you for your interest.

After much discussion with my better half, we have decided to tear-down and rebuild the system. I appreciate the feedback from all who made suggestions and the interest of the potential buyers.

Thank you all.

Roger, you are the man.

I have lost at least 100 colonies of SPS so what I might need in a few weeks is to buy some pest-free frags :-)

First a rebuild and total stabilization before any introductions.

Thanks for the support.
