guess what I got

nice gorgs. the 2 lfs near me rarely carry such nice pieces. I'm apprehensive to order them online. i heard they don't ship very well....

I did order my blue gorg. online from vivid aquariums. I understand your concern of ordering on line, I ordered a red octocoral and it arrived DOA, I won't say from where.

It was pass DOA.....it lost every inch of it's flesh during an overnight delivery....hard to believe it when the package came in...it smelt aweful and the whole bag was filled with what looked like ketchup but was just all the flesh....boy was that ever a nasty gross bag that day. However, I picked my Blueberry up from the lfs, he called to say he had gotten one in and so myself and Big Girl went down there during lunch and Jim actually opened the bag right in front of us from the supplier and it was as pretty coming out of the bag as the pics I've posted. Guessing shipping gorgs is kinda you either get lucky or not...no in-between from what I've seen...however I don't really know..some may ship better than others

You are right it was pass DOA. The thing stunk so bad we wanted to upchuck! Bill took it out in the backyard to open the bag, yea the smell was that horrible even before the bag was opened.

Vivid did a great job on packing and shipping. I will order from them again.

The one LovenBama got from our lfs was for me but I got impatient and ordered one before he could get one in. Our lfs will not buy any coral unless he thinks it a healthy specimen and boy was that a healthy coral. I would have bought it too if LovenBama did not want it.

The zoas on my spider sponge have started opening again.
I got a couple of pics to share. The water is cloudy because I added a couple of diamond gobies the other day and they have really stirred up the sand bed.

OMG....it's breath taking......have you noticed any deteriation at all? I know my sister and brother-in-law(doorlady) have struggled very hard to keep their's alive

I haven't noticed anything that looks bad.
It still looks like it did when I received it.
I am having a difficult time standing it up, it keeps falling over.
My blueberry is doing well. I will get a new pic of it tomorrow.

I know whacha mean about the diamond goby.....love how well they keep the sand clean but kinda sucks when they stir-up a bunch at one time.....lost mine to carpet surfing but my daughter just order me a new one from the lfs for x-mas along with some other things ( makes my pockets less lighter with her being so into the tank...she buys something new for it everytime she goes shopping out by the lfs) not to mention she photos the tank almost nightly and uploads the pics to some site she post alot of photos on that's kinda like photobucket or something

Our spider sponge is going down fast all of the sudden, do not know why, polyps are always out but songe is dying fast. We have a lot of sponge on our rocks that are growing but this thing that we were told to leave in the ocean is dying:(

We have had this coral for about 7 months and it has always been a struggle to kepp it happy.

RWhen i feed the corals I mix the baby brine with the reef chili. I don't know which if either it is eating. I filled/seeded the tank it is in with water/rock from a four year old reef, it could be feeding on stuff that is already in the tank.

I think I am going to cut a small piece off to try a get a better idea of how fast this thing grows.

please keep me posted on how it goes. Would love to have some kinda idea on it's growth rate and how well it frags.

ZaoZao??? Are you keeping it in a shaded or well lit area? I've read they like shade but as of now mine is sitting out in the open with no shade at all with lots of flow and seems to be doing ok

Low light. The aquarium I have these in has a 250 watt pendant over it. The pendant is about 20" over the tank and off centered, creating a low light side.

have you done any research on the Blueberry yet? My sister told me today that there is a forum somewhere on here that someone is saying that if it starts to turn "blue" at the base, it is dieing....it dies from the bottom up and the blue color means it's a gonner....
is your blue around the base? mine is not blue yet but is a deep purple. they are saying that it is hard to keep them
