guess what I got

Keith saw my pictures and noticed the base of the seafan (at the stem) it is turning blue. That is a sign of detoriation despite its consistency of opening.

lack of feeding?
and why start from base.

Currently feeding FM Ultra Min S, Min F, Clam, Life, Seafan. Dosing 3 times a day. Off return pump b4 feeding.

please advise.

hey Big Girl???? is yours in low light? been reading and everyone suggest low light with moderate to strong flow

No mine is not in low light, but in the bottom of a 180 with VHO lighting. Mine has the blue on the base that has started recently, but also has grown polyps on this, this can't be DEATH with new polyps can it?????????????????????:idea:
 
duh...I know what kinda lighting you have silly and size tank...just don't know exactly where you placed it in the tank cause I haven't been over there since you got it ...thinkin you need to post a new FT shot

pretty much as where mine is at in my tank....in the front of the left kinda sitting about 12" from a powerhead for flow.....thinking I'm gonna feed more than 2xday to see what kinda response I get from it....mine doesn't appear to like the spray-dried phyto but does the cyclopeezes....already feed around 6am then again around 6pm the cyclos
 
:lolspin::lolspin:Well we will see, I feed at about 4:00am this morning, 7:30am, 5:10pm. 7:15pm, 8:30pm and 9:45pm. If i could be a stay at home mom or our aquarium would be happy!!!!!!!!!!!!:lolspin:
 
no wonder your phosphates are off the charts!!! you are feeding different things at each of these feedings, right? I'm talking about doing the cyclos three times a day along with the other main meals in the afternoons.
 
Now that you broke your foot, Bill is gonna get even less rest having to do all those feedings himself...thinkin he needs to get ya a lift-chair and put it in front of the tank
 
do you dose phyto-plankton? I know you have always had good luck with micro-feeders?
Susan you need to pick up your war-paint scolly or do you want me to ship it to you?

use some spray-dried phyto and some DT's... do you know of something else that you might recommend? Oh!! Hey Kathy, just noticed it was you that posted. Hope everything is well with you and your family.Wishing ya'll a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year.
 
can't be rising...it's all running down our way!!! Hope this wet weather stops soon or I'll have to buy mega loads of salt and turn all these new ponds in my yard into SW ponds...LOL


Anywho, any new updates on your blueberry Zaozao? posted the question about the base turning blue meaning detoriation in another thread and from what I gather, no one knows this to be a true sign or not, thinkin it's maybe just another one of those so called excuses or reason given to explain the death of one by another reefer. That being said, I don't know but kinda seems odd tho. Mine has begun to darken in color around the base but it also appears to have new growth at the base
 
The blueberry I have has had blue at the base since I received it. The blue hasnt spread.
I think the stems are getting thicker.
I still haven't fragged it,maybe tomorrow.

Yours has many more polyps than mine.
