Quick question..

This moprning my h barbori gave birth to about 7-10 fry..

This was totaly unexpected so I had to rush to the fish store to pick up a nursery tank and set up... The problem is that they didn't have any bbs, only adult size... I bought a kit made by "San Fransisco " brand (sorry I don't remember the exact name (at work).. It claimes that it will take 18-40 hours before they hatch..
Will they make it that long before they can eat... They gave me a few regular sized brine shrimp just to see if they showed any intrest, but nothing so far..

I really want these guys to survive , please help!!!

I live in kenosha (southeast) thank you for the offer.. Hopefully tommorow when I wake up there will be a few that have hatched.. I 'm sure that they will be hungry..

The broad size was only 7-10.. By the time I got everything set up I was only able to retrieve 5.. But they all seem hardy and swimming well.. I was a little concerned with the amount though.. I have heard stories of seahorses have 50-100-200 at once? Is this because it was the first time giving birth??Just curious..

Like I mentioned any other bits of info would be greatly appreciated, alot of people talk about "green water" . Is that an additive ?

I believe Green water is phytoplankton. I have tried rotifer cultures and green water and they always crash within 3 months.
If it is his first brood it could be that he only had a small number. Or he may have had more and you just didn't see them. The broods will get bigger. I'm not that educated with the barbori. I've only keep Erectus, redi, and kuda. I wish you luck with them. Just a FYI he can become pregnant again right after giving birth. I know a lot of people who's seahorses have fry every 14 days or so, YIKES!!
Be ready and have fun. Good Luck with them.
