H.Mag Budding?

So after a anemone i purchased from a LFS was sick i returned it for the full price and checked out my tank parameters all were in tip top shape. so i ordered a H.Mag online from marine depot(after seeing the beautiful pictures of you're anemones). it arrived yesterday rather limp but all was well after a 1 hour acclimation and it immediatly planted its foot. but after it started to plump up i notticed a part of the foot that was very close to the mouth. after about 6 hours in the tank it was a hydra shape coming from where the strange piece of tissue was. this morning the anemone was large and looked happy but i could no longer see the bud.

haha i kind of see that did not make sense....my question is 1) do they even bud. 2) is that a sign of stress like for instance RBTA splitting due to stress

It could have been a cut in the fooy. they are quite common.

its very hard to explain but it was on the oral disk part not the foot...there was the foot tissue forming what looked like a new mouth next to the existing mouth. it even had tentacles forming a ring around the stranged looking piece of tissue. i will post the pics but you cant really see anything

Maybe it is a mutant that will eat all of your fish! Nah, just kidding. It is maybe going to split and, like Mitosis, is getting ready before the split.

If we could get a better pic it would help ()...but I can say, that I personally have not heard of a Mag splitting from shipping stress...but I also can't say that it will and/or never has happened. The event that usually happens is the anemone just dies...but hopefully this is not the case.

Yah...and hopefully it doesn't turn into a zombie and eat your pillow. That would suck.

Yah...cause what would you rest your head on once your pillow is eatin by your evil zombie anemone? You never know. I hear about those stories ALL of the time!
