H.Magnifica feeding problem

I bought a healthy H.Magnifica, it was completely inflated today and it seems healthy, I tried to feed it today (second day in my tank), and the ocellaris clownfish knocked the food out, before it could eat it. The weird thing is that they don't do that with the RBTA.

And I don't know, what is supposed to happen?, when to feed it again?, will the fish knock the food out?, I supposed it wasn't 100% ready to eat because it was its second day in the tank and thus didnt have the strenght or will, but who knows? help

I ussually wait a week or so to feed a new anemone.. But that is just me. Feed the clowns first. I also feed siversides to my anemones and they are rather big so ussually my clowns do not touch them...

I feed my anemones everyweek too, but they told me H. Magnificas eat more often, although this one has just arrived, so I don't know.

I would move the clowns to a different tank to give the anemone time to settle in and get some food in it. Especially with H.Mag i believe it is important to get it to eat as soon as possible. It most likely hasn't feed since capture and it hasn't been recieving the neutrients it needs from its algae. It will continue to go down hill if the clowns won't allow it to feed. Good luck.

I moved the clowns and fed it a piece of shrimp with cyclop eeze inside, it didn't eat it, I even put it inside its mouth and it just spat it out.

What should I do?, when to feed what the feed how to entice it to eat?

I haven't succesfuly kept an H. mag, but I know from other species that I have had, anemones can be picky.

Maybe try a small, less than 1cm^3, of silverside .... see if it has particular taste.

Also try feeding the clowns first.

Seems strange becuase I have never seen a fish steal food from a HEALTHY anemone....

It might be a bit early yet to see a feeding response.

Problem is, they can stop eating when stressed. They'll look fine, but if they don't start eating, they're doomed and there's not much you can do.

But like I said, it's too early to hit the panic button. It could just still be settling into its new surroundings.

Try different foods, there might be some that elicit a better feeding response.

I generally just feed mine mysis, perfect sized food and high in protein so a very good food.

When you feed, turn the current off for a few minutes, that will help. Eventually you won't need to but if it's having trouble hanging onto food this will definitely help.
