H. Magnifica vs. F. Occelaris

Well I have only had this guy for about a week, but he eats immediately when i feed him and his mouth closes right back up within minutes,, his colors have gotten much better (very green and purple) and he seems to like the spot I gave him as he has not moved an inch. the clowns also have a new clutch of eggs right oncer him

Just some updated pics, sorry for the quality

He won't eat today,, I have been feeding whole krill.. he will hold onto it but there is no feeding response and eventually the clowns will dislodge the food. I did not feed yesterday so he should be hungry

If you've been consistently feeding krill, I suggest you try another food. Mine aren't nearly so eager to eat the same food several times in a row. Try a fresh piece of silverside, shrimp, squid, scallop, etc.

any suggestions out there on if this guy is doomed to perish.. he looks really healthy and I have had him for almost 3 weeks and he has not moved from the spot i put him. he is sticky and responds to food but the one problem is he almost always has a slightly gaping mouth. could it be something particular or just a sign of his evential decline?

well, I beleive it is only a matter of time now.. there is no deterioration but he has a gaping mouth and is non-responsive to food. I will watch him closely over the next few days

Mag has been going downhil,, i thought it might be splitting but it looks like its just dying. mouth stays open, not sticky anymore,, the rest of the oral disk and tentacles look great but under its foot there looks to be some disentigration going on,, is it time to just remove it?

Very sorry to hear. I can't tell you if it's time to remove it yet, but I would say keep a close eye on it. It can quickly cause a mess in your tank if it begins to fall apart.
