I am going to go with the shortened version of the A 200x1260 and was wondering if you gravity feed it or use a pump?

I just got my H&S a150 on friday, gave it a vinegar bath friday night. Hooked it up to the system saturday night and it started skimming right away. Seems to be pulling out at least twice what my tunze 9015 did. So far im very happy with this skimmer and i could not ask for better customer service than i received from Ed @ KM Asscoiates int'l. I was originally going to buy an ATI bm-160(because of limited sump space, this is why i had the tunze) but after talking with Ed and going over my bioload (14 fish) in my 120 gallon tank i decided to go with the external H&S. I will take a couple pics tonight and post them here

Here is my new baby
A200-1260

DeltecRules...H&S skimmer...priceless.

A250 owners I'd love to see some pics of your skimmers and hear some comments on its performance and how you have it plumbed,I havn't heard much on this newer modelwith its wider body and how its performance has changed from the older A200

thanks.

Here is a few pics of my new H&S A150. Im running it outside my stand at the moment till i do some rearranging to get it to fit in my stand. This is about 48 hours after plugging it in for the first time. Definately out performing my old tunze 9015

Nice looking skimmer Doe,its quite the tall skimmer too!
Any reason why there is no bubbles in the lower part of the skimmer or is this normal?

I hope that it is normal, I can get the bubbles to come down almost to the lower ring if i turn the air way down but i get way less foam when i do that.

That is the way most of the H&S skimmers running... They are designed that way so no bubbles can escape from the skimmer to your tank , I never like it but they are running very good that way .

DeltecRules .. Congratulation on the new skimmer .....

Would there be any problem in having a A110 along with powerhead and return pump together in the last chamber of my sump?

Thanks,
Gary

Unless you were skimmerless before installing your new H&S, I wonder if your Tunze was pulling out everything. I can't believe what you're getting in the first 2 days of breaking in your skimmer.

H&S skimmers are always like this. They pull massive amounts when first getting added to a system. If you notice, 95% of the pictures people post of their H&S are from their first few days/weeks of owning the skimmer. That is simply when they perform the best.

Quick question for you guys. Were should the water level be in the skimmer with the pumps off? Should it be to the collection cup meets the body?

The tunze 9015 I had was pulling out about 50-100ml a day according to the scale on the side of the collection cup. The tunze skimmate was definately not as dark as the H&S skimmate either.

Definitely makes me wonder how much my Euro-Reef left behind. I had the same experience when I switched over, first couple of weeks, the cup filled up within 5 days. After a couple of months, it's still consistently filling up, but in about 7-8 days. If we all weren't skimmerless before installing our H&S skimmers, that's got to mean that our previous skimmer was leaving something behind, so I've got to agree with CruzinKim here.
