"HA" killoff

Ok so I put my LR in about 4 days ago now, and it has more HA than I had previously thought. Im not worried about the rock, since its been in a tank for around 7 years, there wouldnt be much left of any use on it anyways.

So whats the best way to kill it off? Put it in some freshwater for a day or so? leave it out compltetely dry? Id like to kill any spores that may or may not be hiding as well.

You could bruxh off wht you can, and yes putit into fresh water to kill everything, even the life on the rock itself.

Have you conciderd maybe cooking the rock? this way you will be able to keep some life on it.

Depends on final product do you want dead baserock or not. If baserock is what you want store it out in the sun it will kill everything and bleach it for you. If not I would cook it.

I tried brushing it off, but its tough stuff lol. I tried cooking them, but only for a week until I realized in my small apartment, that it wouldnt work out.

I dont really mind killing anything on the rock, since I really doubt theres anything left on it anyways. I will be getting some better LR later though.
How long would I leave it in the sun or freshwater?
