Had my first Flood

So today I decided to change the water while I was feeling up to it. Right now I have some Airline tubing set up to do an "automatic" water change, all I have to do is start the siphon and then vacuum out the bottom. I find this works much better on a BioCube, since there is less of a temperature shock, and the back is really annoying to try to level out.

It was all going good, since I had finally ironed out the kinks in the system, had 2 hoses going in, and one out. I wasn't paying attention to the intake hoses while I was cleaning, and one fell out. Then after a few minuets my feet got a little damp, so I look down, and boom, theres about 2 gallons of water all over the floor, rug, and wall. Seems that one of the hoses took a dive, but luckily it stopped siphoning after 2 gallons.

So thats my mini flood story. Lucky me I had some big lab liquid soaking pads down, and then some extras that were used to soak up the water.:twitch:

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Fishfish, seems to happen to all of us sooner or later.

I would be interested in hearing more about the "big lab liquid soaking pads" you mentioned. These would be a handy item to have on hand.

Ah, I was waiting for it to happen. I guess thats why my room is the only one with the cheap-o Laminate floors

Ill see if I can find a link to them, they are quite handy, and I just dry them out after use so then I can reuse them a few more times. Usually just chuck aquarium junk onto them (algae, and other stuff), which makes clean up super easy.
