Haddoni ate both clowns..

My clowns had claimed the haddoni as its home for the past two years. They would dig themselves in its mouth and would sleep in there every night..

A few weeks ago, I did fumigation and removed the fish from the tank a week prior to the tenting... When it was all done, I released the fish back in.. Everything seemed normal and the clowns were back at the haddoni.. A few days later, I observed haddi spitting out two large objects... Wonder if they had lots their protective film and haddi zapped and ate them as they were sleeping?

Guess its time for two new clowns?....

Here they are after I released them after the tenting:

That's very odd considering those look to be A. Sebae, a natural host for haddonis. That's a first for me.

I doubt the nem killed your clowns. Though Haddoni have been known to sting clowns that do not naturally associate with them, once acclimated to the anemone, there should be no problem.

Even though it's rare, I do think it's possible that the haddoni killed the clowns. When you say you removed your fish, dos you also remove your anemones/ other corals too?

No I only removed the fish.. the nem and corals stayed in the tank..

All was good when I put them back,.. then a few days later, both clowns died but the other fish (regal angel and potters angel) are perfectly fine.

That is weird, too bad lost clowns but at least most everything else made it past fumigation, always a nervy ordeal
