Haddoni eating fish!

Been keeping S. haddonis for 15+ years now, don't know the exact number, but somewhere b/t 5 and 10 over that time frame.

IME, it seems that some are more prone to eat fish then others. I had a tan one for 12+ years and it never ate a fish. Whereas a couple of years ago I had a green stripe one that ate 3 before I sold it.

I should note that before I had my clowns hosting in side it was worse. They are however very young and not that intimidating or great at defending home yet. I hope as the grow they can help save some lives...

IME, don't count on the clowns preventing a fish from being eaten. In fact I blame my old pink skunk pair for the death of my Golden dwarf angel. They would torment that fish often -- going over 2 feet away from the anemone -- and it would then chase them, the would swim into the S. haddoni. One time it chased them back too far.... And prior to that the other angels in that tank would always be near the S. haddoni -- because of the clowns -- right after I sold the clowns the angels stopped paying attention to the S. haddoni.

well my tank has 3 haddoni's with a 4th on his way.

They have already eaten 8 fish in the last 2 months! I won't mention how many snails etc they have eaten already.

My haddoni's get fed well ... :)

in my early days of keeping carpets i have lost a few fishes. but in my latter days i have lost zero, that maybe because i have the same fishes for about ranging from 7-10 years and have not added new fishes other than clowns. My fishes know what the carpets can do to them so they dont swim to death zones. Now they learn how to steal food from carpets and it's very fun to watch the tug-of-war between the carpet and the fishes...... in the end everyone win because the fishes get the nips and the carpets get the big chunk and no one is hurt :-)
