Haddoni first timer

I unexpectedly picked up a green haddoni from a fellow reefer who was downsizing.
I did my homework on where this nem would feel most comfortable in my tank but there was one complication. It attached firmly to the transport bucket so I had to put him in my tank attached to a large plastic disk after cutting the bucket up. He will need to move to bury his foot I assume....

All advice welcome. Mouth is still open wide.. I gave it a fresh rock to snuggle up to until he moves. Tank is almost 2 years old.

Oh and that shrimp came with it. Seems pretty protective which is great.

In the future if you need to move it, try using an ice cube on the foot to encourage it to release. For now I'd let it move itself, just keep a close eye on it.

We used ice to get it off the rock in the old tank and I just didn't have the heart to do it again 2 hours later. I just buried the plastic in the sand...it can stay if he likes it.

Haddoni first timer

My power heads are off until I can cover them today

I was just gonna use pantyhose but hate how much flow it makes me lose. Any alternatives? I have a gyre and two tunzes.

Haddoni should do fine with your PH uncovered. Haddoni stay on the sand bed. If your Haddoni pick up his foot out of the sand and travel, you got more than your problem than just an uncover PH.

Ok great thanks. How much flow is too much? I have it under my gyre and run the gyre backwards for half an hour every hour. When running forward, the nem lays flat and the flow is low. When the gyre runs backward, the nem does get blown around somewhat. I can switch so the pump doesn't blow on the nem or does it like this?

IMO, the oral plate should not move because of current for Haddoni. Maybe you got too much flow for him.
