Haddoni Question?

I have recently introduced an approximatly 5 1/2 inch haddoni into my 75 gallon reef. He seems to be fine the pair of saddlebacks love it. My question is other than lots of light and flow, what are tyhe secrets to keeping these guys happy? I did some research before purchasing and i have basically comer uo with light, flow, and clown fish to keep them happy. Just trying to get as much uinfo as possible, Thanks in advance.

Haddonis do not like high flow at all. You may be confusing this with a gigantea, which thrives on high flow.

Sure thing. All of mine get very unhappy if there is too much flow.

I have found them fairly easy to keep --- as long as you start out with a healthy one.

That seems to be true of most anemones. Getting a healthy one to start off with is unfortunately the hardest part.

That is the trick getting a healthy one!!!!!!! Other then that i have found them pretty easy also! Its been a yr that i ve had my blue and 3.5 mths on the red!

Very good point, sure other anemones are harder to keep, but the key to any of them is to start off with a healthy one. That will give you a running start.

My oldest Haddoni is 9+ years old, and it have made it through 2 full moves, and numerous mistakes on my part.

The blue one is about a year and a half old --- managed to damage it really bad while moving it to another tank, it made a full recovery (( wish I had taken a picture of how bad it looked. But, it was so bad that if I would have been going out of town that weekend I would have pulled it, it looked that bad )).

Lastly my green one is about 5 months old.

The common thing about them is that they all started out in great condition.

Great info guys, and much appreciated! He seems healthy is open but not really attached yet. The saddlebacks took all of 3 minutes to host. I am assuming that once it is comfortable in one spot it will burry its foot and make a home! I did tryto give it a piece of silverside but the clown wouldn't have it, she kept taking it away, whats the deal with that?

I wouldn't bother to try to feed it for the next couple of days, give it time to settle in. Once it is settled in I would be surprised if the clown would be able to steal any food from it -- mine hold on to ( and eat very quickly ) any food with an iron grip.

Would have liked if yours had already attached to the bottom of the tank -- I am assuming that you put it on the sand bed. Mine all seem to prefer to be right at the sand/rock interface.

i did put him on the sand, just got home from work and looks like he is burrying his foot at the rock / sand interface just like you mentioned.
