It is no where near the size of all the other carpets in this store in Houston. They have a big tub with every color but red. The carpets have been there for months. Just not a big market for them here.
I am setting up a 90 gallon now to bring the purple one home. Although I think it is a s. gig.
I do like the dark blue I have seen posted. Very Nice.
I do belive that the common name of these is "Pizza Crust Anemone",I also belive that they are comonly found with a nest or two of Sexy Anemone Shrimp!
I presume it died. Towards the end of my reef keeping career, it had turned brown and reduced in size from about 8-9" to about 3-4". I traded off all of my anemones to the LFS so I don't know what happened to it. It lived in my tank for exactly two years.
At the time I bought it I thought it was a perfectly healthy anemone. The name was "sky-blue carpet" so I though this was a normal color. I did some Google searching shortly afterwards and the only color I saw that was even close was a carpet with blue-tips and brown base. I put two and two together and realized this was a bad purchase. Shortly thereafter it started turning brown and I thought this was a good sign but it never inflated the same way. It was host to a pair of black saddlebacks. I had a "Neon Green" one, too; same problem.
This is the blue carpet a year later:
Here's the green shortly after purchase. It wasn't as bad.
At the time they were under 2x 400W 6500K MH with 60" VHO actinics (a 60x18x24" tank). I don't know if that had any impact. The BTAs liked the lighting.
