Hady-foam rock supports

I am planning on setting up a 125 and moving the contents of a 90 into it. I want to avoid getting any more live rock, so i though i would build a wall support with maybe two levels out of PCV legs and eggcrate, so i dont have to use rock as the support.

I ran into a few posts of people using a pond foam which looks like rock called handy-foam. I thought it would be cool to spray the legs and front of the eggcrate to prevent it from showing.

I was just wondering if this is reef safe and who has used it with success.

heres a link to handy-foam:

there are alot of thread that talk about the pond and great stuff. They become inert after they dry. The problem is the degrade when under MH lights so you need to seal them

The foam might theoretically degrade under MH lights. This stuff is made to sit in sunlight day after day. Sunlight is worse than MH for just about everthing intensity, UV, spectrum, etc. I wouldn't worry about it. Besides in a couple of months it will be covered in coraline which will effectively shade it from the effects of the the MH. Go for it. I have been toying with using foam as well. I have some geometry issues to figure out since my tank is already setup... but that is another problem.

I have used the foam on my wife's 65 gallon tank along with the Calfo style overflow and bulkheads. So far I love the whole setup. I piped my return from the sump into a maniflod system with 4 outlets around the top of the tank. Got red of all the unsightly wires and hardware normally seen in a tank. I have one temporary powerhead in the tank running on a plenum system but that will probably be taken out soon. I am going to add a second MH so I will see how the foam holds up. I have a few pics in my gallery.
