hair algae control tips?

My tank is about 5 years old, and I have never had a problem with nuisance algae, until recently. Nothing has changed that I am aware of to cause this hair algae outbreak.

Nitrates and Phosphates are undetectable. KH is around 9, pH is 8.0-8.1.

I have alot of hermits and snails, but they are not touching the hair algae. I bought a lawnmower blenny, and he isnt touching it either.

Does anyone have any suggestions for contolling this problem, besides brushing it off with a toothbrush every week?

Thanks.

get an emerald crab and cut it back a bit. It may just be too long for the blenny to eat right now. Make it shorter and he might do the rest. And same if you get the emerald.

But have you tested iron? That also causes HA
