Treating the syptoms is not a cure for the cause. Leave the turbo snails because once you get it the nutrient levels down they will help you. What you need is to change the water in small amounts a week for a aobut a month. Don't overfeed. Use carbon, but it loses its efficacy quickly so remove it after 3 days. Polyfilters help too. Water changes, polyfilters, not overfeeding and possibly if you dont have a refugium to grow algae and pods then you should inquire.

i don't understand how mono's help?

in my experience they are dirty fish that get pretty big and are a real pain in the butt...

explain that to me i have never seen them eat algae or do anything for that matter to better it... im just curious as to what they could do?
