I hear Vodka treatment works on algae removal. How much would I need to treat 75 gallons? 90 gal.FWLR tank, approx. 75 gal. of water 4 fish&clean up crew.
What size tank do you have? Vodka will eliminate nitrates over time. It does a little for phosphates but not nearly as much. If you have hair algae then you have phosphates. I would run gfo and remove it manually with water changes. I would ask your parameters but any hobbyist test kit will show zero since the algae is consuming as quick as it appears. I'm going through the same thing right now since my wife was taking care of the fish tank while I was gone for 6 months. Phosphates are showing .03 and nitrates 0 but still have algae. It's dying slowing due to the gfo and waterchanges.
