hair algae

sea hares, mexican turbo snails, hermit crabs, some blennies... there are others that I cant think of right now

Playa,
Go ro the second page of this forum and look @ Josh Johnson's post about freshwater mollies, which acclimate to salt, and the success he has had wiping out his hair algae problems. P.S. His mollies seem to be totally happy....lol... I fortunately don't have any hair algae, but if I did, I would try this method 1st.
My 2 cents....

I have been reading that, but I dont think my 3 stripe damsel would be very nice to him. I have so many crabs... and I just caught a sea e yesterday and let him go... grr. I'll try a molly.

yep, try the Dalmation Mollie... it works. My Hair algae is reduced by over 95%. He has moved on to other filamentous algaes in the tank and skimming the water surface too now. Chocalate Chip (the name he has been given) has earned a permanent home in our biome.

Yep, i agree my have been doing great. My tank has never looked so good. Just remember that you still have to look at the root cause of the problem, but hte mollies will help.
