I caught this in my 55G tonight. It is about the size of a quarter and has been feasting on my hermits and snails. He is now in the fuge. :) :) :)

I did have to remove all my rocks to get him!..... But everything was moved to the 90G anyway

Wow... thats kinda scary!

If you want some more hermits, you can have some of mine. I have a small orange zoo frag for ya, too, from Steve. :)

Thats a gorilla crab. Be glad you caught him. They can harm corals and even fish when they get bigger (and they grow fast).

I have been trying to catch him for a month now. Jack, you are right, he is a fast grower! he looked bigger every time I chased him around those rocks, of course I will have to start feeding him as that fuge is only about 5G & nothing to eat but pods :)

Moriah found one of these in our 92 right after the meeting. Probably about 1/2" across the carapace. Must have been in there a long time because we haven't added anything to that tank for a while. We tried QTing all live rock and keeping an eye on things, but there's no way you'd find these most of the time.

I couldn't risk a speedy escape, so ours was not so lucky as to make it into the sump.

I understand him not making it to the sump. I had thought about a "spear" to get him, but knew I was going to move all the rock in a couple of weeks, so just waited him out;)
He got his first meal in captivity today :)
