Hey all quick question. I 'think' I know the answer to this, but I am looking for some advice.
My hairy mushrooms have recently reached a size that they are in contact with my cabbage leather 100% of the time. I am sure that there is an unseen toxin battle going on here even though neither coral is showing any visible tissue damage. However, my GSP's and my purple goni have stopped opening as much as normal since this started happening.
I guess the question is not should I seperate them, but which would be easier to move off the rock? The cabbage is about softball sized and there are three mushrooms which are about 4" each.
Not having ever done this before I am a little unsure of the process even after reasearching how to frag them. If I cut the cabbage off at the base will the stalk regrow a new coral like the mushrooms tend to? Or if not, will that dying tissue become a nasty chemical dump for the tank and cause other problems??
Thanks!!
