Hairy Mushroom

Added a Hairy mushroom frag to my tank the other day. Already starting to spread out over the rock it was attached to. I was wondering how far apart from other coral i need to keep it. I only have a 30 gallon right now but will soon be in a 75 gal.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

I don't know about sweepers I do know, well read they can kill anything(coral) that comes near it. Mine right now is only gotten 4" in width/depth.

If you have the rhodactis, the only thing that tolerates them are discosomas. Even zoanthids do not like near them. They do not have stingers or sweeper tentacles that I have seen.
Here are some old pics of my rhodactis. Note the discosoma behind (blue).

Is it hard to frag later on if I wanted? Also I currently have the frag near the middle/top since I have pc lighting. But when I move to the 75 gallon soon I will have Halide lighting, am I going to have to move the position of the frag or will it be fine? I also know I'm going to have to shade the tank from the halides little by little until they get use to it.

mushrooms do not have sweepers, instead they secrete a nasty slime, killing anything that touches them for any extended period of time.

i am moving to halide lighting am I going to need to put the mushroom on the sand bed or is it ok in a mid to high position. I know im going to have to adjust them for at least a few weeks using eggcrate and screen.

Hairy mushrooms have infested my tank. They grow like wildfire and are rather toxic. I had a birdsnest in close proximity to some RTN recently. I think it was due to mushroom toxicity. So be careful and keep up your water changes if you end up with a lot of them.
