Haitian Pink Tipped Anemone

Posting this thread as some advice to those considering the purchase of a Haitian pink tipped anemone. I'm sure I'll get beat up for this but I'll deserve it. Wanted to post this thread for new hobbyists considering the purchase of one of these guys.

I purchased my Nem just two days ago and woke up to it floating upside down at the bottom of my tank. He appears to have died during the night after less than 48 hours of introduction to my tank.

Cause of death is likely one of two of things from what I have read on the various forums.

1) My tank is less than 3 weeks old and not yet established for such a delicate addition. Have read many articles now after the fact that say only keep them in well established tanks and don't add unless your tank is several months or older. All the levels in my tanks our great. I've been religious about water changes. Temp, PH all good nitrates resting at 7-8 little high.

2) Second possible option stress. When I added him to my tank in less than 20 mins a rather aggressive clownfish I have began hosting in him. Swimming arond and seemingly harassing him. I let it be figuring clownfish host in anemones. Then I came across an article that said not in this guy. There are no clownfish in the Caribbean as we all hopefully know so it is not normal for a clownfish to host in him. And certainly not after only 20 mins in the tank. But my clown did. Has not left him alone. In fact as he is upside on the bottom of the tank looking dead now, my clown is on top of him trying to figure out what's wrong with him.

So I suspect a combination of things have killed my Haitian pink tipped anemone. New, not established tank, and possibly the constant harassment from my clownfish.

If anyone has any other thoughts let me know. I feel really bad. I should have waited and I fear my impatience was at the cost of this beautiful creature's life.

It may not be dead (yet) and they do occasionally host clowns... It was not a good idea to put it in a new tank, but keep an eye on it and maybe return it to LFS or someone with older tank.

You only list your nitrates. What are your other water parameters in numbers? At 3 wks old, I doubt your tank is fully cycled yet. Do you have a friend that can 'fishsit' your clown & anemone for a bit while your tank finishes cycling? Cody nems are known to move around quite a bit & occasionally host clownfish, though rare.
