Lets be there starting at 1:30 PM Sunday for the last CVRC Meet of the year. We have prizes, refreshments, and of course the open coral auction which we ask everyone to join in. Just bring your coral in and be sure to write the minimum bid and the name of it on your bag. It will be cold out so I suggest you bring a cooler to transport your coral in.

More info available on the official forum.

I'll bring some store bought cookies. Have been ripping out carpet, painting, and tearing down tanks so no way was I baking...sorry :) If we need ice, cups, plates, etc call me before 12:30 tomorrow cause Brian wants to be there by 1 to set up. I'll pick them up when I get the cookies, no problem.

We will be bringing several different candycane corals, some baby plate corals, neon green frogspawn, and live sand from our ten gallon tank and ten gal fuge. So a good bit of live sand that's full of worms, snails, starfish, copepods, amphipods, etc. These tanks have no aptasia.

Have live rock from the 40 gal tank, it does have aptasia along with different types of snails, starfish, bristleworms, and lots of other critters. Once we get rid of all the rock we'll have live sand from the 40 gal tank and 20 gal refugium. Also, gold-banded clown fish(female) she would love to have an anemone again, two different jawfish one is a Dusky the other I don't remember the name but it's yellow, and a royal gramma. All good size fish.

Plus, attached to live rock we have a medium size finger leather, an orange flower anemone, and a green flower anemone. Oh, almost forgot, have a great Teddy Bear crab that eats algae. Will live in the tank or refugium. He's a tough bugger. I call him big, hairy, and ugly :D I think there's pics of him in my album.

Without them it would not have been possible.

What did you miss?

We welcome our newest member and she easily would have won for farthest distance traveled, (Cayman Islands). we learned a lot about the island and politics concerning corals there.

We also got to see some of the rarest coral I have personally been around that were not my own, (ATL Meteor Shower), Oh wait but now it is mine ;)

We also made several serious decisions as a group, which was great IMO! These decisions will in my opinion help to grow the club both on-line and off line and s Phil has been nominated for the Vice Presidency in an effort to lend me serious input and advice. He will work with me to help pull the CVRC out of the stall it is in.

I chose Phil because of his close proximity, and I have worked with him in the past on group buys etc. He has missed only 1 meeting in CVRC history and only then because his daughter was being born at the time. Even so, he did call and tell us where he was LOL. His loyalty to the club and his determination to help grow it by teaching others and spreading the message lead to this decision.

We will be scaling back our regular swaps (not meetings), We will only have two BIG swaps per year. The online community will continue to grow and we will be assigning CVRC PR duties to members as well as holding member drives to increase the base membership.

Thanks to all that came out.
We will see you soon.
