Halmidea turned white and died

My halmidea just turned white and died... it wasnt sporilating and its under 150w MH and 130w PC in a 30g. cube and its at the top.. it was doing really good for a while.. now it died and then coraline algea grows over it.. it came on my tampa bay LR .... ...

To much, or to little light can do that. I dont know why, but every couple weeks or so a branch of mine will die, but it is replaced pretty soon by another branch.

I am also interested, is this some sort of way to prune itself? Or is it just a coincidence that every couple weeks I have a branch or two die?

thats exactly what happens to me.. it is um... tampa bay LR.. and it just was there.. and i get like a little stalk and then eventually it dies and another one grows somewhere else on the rock... its weird..
