In an older tank with both gracilaria and an urchin. If the Urchin didn't completely eat and demolish the gracilaria it would die from rotting because I rooted it in the sand.

Thanks, I will keep it placed on rock. I've had it for some weeks and it's growing very slowly, placed on the base of one island. It seems to have lost the bright orange speckles and I'm wondering if it would be better placed higher up?
