I just got the down-low and the 14K 250W Mogul Hamilton's are in and I've got some reserved for St Jude and a couple of club members. Nick, Vicki, if your still interested let me know and if anyone else is looking for them PM me ASAP!

I know I can look this up somewhere, but if anyone know off hand that would be great. how do these compare (with re: usable light for corals) to the 12k XMs?

Nick is morse of an authority on this than me but I believe the Hamilton's 14K outpreforms XM's 15K hands down.
I know after seeing Nicks tank and the rich colors along with his coral growth, I'm game.

If you look at this months reef keeping magazine,
http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2007-04/jb/index.php
they did a great job of testing different ballast with different bulbs. It looks like it depends on what type of ballast you use and what kind of PAR you can expect. Looks like if you have an electronic ballast Hamilton kicks butt but on a standard ballast XM 15K win.

Hey Barrett, I don't need the Hamilton's anymore. i ordered some a couple of days ago. Thanks.

Nick

I meant 12K XMs. Thats what I thought I had. but who knows its been a while. guess that means Ineed new bulbs, if I can't remember. I'll look at the linky... thanks

Don't try and muddy the waters with facts and statistics.:p
All anyone cares about is how do they look.;)
