Hammer Coral - Skeleton fractured down the middle

I bought 2 heads for $5 a head last night, and ended up with 3 + 1 head that is pretty broken. The skeleton is fractured down the middle, I think the only thing keeping it together is the flesh tbh. Should I take that head off and get rid of it? Or will it be okay to leave in there even if it is dying? Still pretty new to reefing so I'm just looking for some advice. :)

For the record, the other three heads fully extended today; the broken one hasn't at all.

You can actually see it fractured in this picture

You can try and superglue it back together or tie it together with wire. Either way, I would take it out of the sand so it doesn't develop an infection.

I had a duncan that did that and i used a rubber band to hold it together. It was healed in about a month and i removed the band.

Thank you! Sand was only temporary, it's on the rocks now and I will try to glue it back together. ^^

try not to sandwich the glue inside the coral. Just a few dabs or lies on the outside edge. You don't want to mess with the internal workings of the coral more than you have to.
