Hammer Coral / Tank Positioning

I've been doing a bit of research on where to settle my new hammer coral. Some sites say low-moderate current on bottom levels of the tank while other say low-moderate current on top levels of the tank.

Anyone have any input on their 'best' positioning?

Any replies are appreciated!

What lights do you have? That makes all the difference in height of corals as MH's penetrate way deeper into water than most other lights.

I have mine at the bottom of my 12 gallon nano-cube. 48 watts PC lighting. Low to moderate flow is where I have mine.

Thanks!

Have you noticed and discoloration from when you originally purchased him?

Does he still have a flourescent tip and pinkish stems?

I've been reading that if moved to a lower portion of the tank they can lose color intensity.

We have 2 SE 250 Watt 12K reflux on a double magnetic balance. And for actinics:::: 2- ATI T5's... 54 watts each.

We have a 90g tall... and our hammer sits midway our tank with moderate flow and thrives there! We brought it home late Novenber, it had four heads. Now has five heads and still has bubbles indicating more growth.

Hope this helps!
