Hello,

I have a two headed hammer coral in my tank which has a "crack" or "hole" in its skeleton. I have had the hammer for about 3 months and its been doing well but this is the first time im noticing this.

This pic is just after the lights came on so its not fully inflated but that's the only way you can see the crack

Where is this crack at? IMO, the coral looks fine. The colors look a little washed out, but I've seen much worse.

I can see color in the heads now, in on my phone and it has a much better picture than my work computer
Doesn't look too bad.

The very middle of the "v" you can see there is a hole. It's hard to get a good pic unless I take it out of the water.

On the colors, I'm thinking It may be too high up in my tank? It's a rsm 130 about 5-6 inches from the surface. I didn't realize they should be on the bottom. Lights are 2x 65watt 50/50 10,000k and actinic t5 power compact

I guess I should post my tank somewhere on here to get advice :/

Cool. Yea the crack is under the heads. Ill try to get a better pic when I move it just for reference but looks like im in good shape

If its under the heads, just put some glue in it and seal it, itll help the piece from breaking. take the piece out of the water, put some super glue in the hole, and make sure none of the glue touches the head or its tissue.

Shouldnt't be a problem, they dont have to be on the bottom but you should take time to photo acclimate them. Under high lights these guys grow like crazy and i always have to break chunks off of them to keep them from overcrowding my tank.
