Hammer / flow question

Should a hammer have water movement accross it and not into it? I have several heads that have the water movement moving straight into the mouth instead of blowing past it. They don't look very happy but the water flow is fairly gentle there.

The coral is in a new spot and I have been having issues with my LPS. It looks like I need to move it yet again.

never have the flow directly at it, never a good idea. It can tear tissue and give all sorts of problems, make it indirect and light to medium depending on how much you want the hammer to expand.

LPS hate laminar or direct flow. When the flow is of too great an intensity, this can cause tears in the tissue of the coral. Either that, or the coral will refuse to open due to irritation, and begin receeding, and then die if the problem isn't rectified.
You want chaotic flow; random flow. As much as possible anyways. Just enough current to make the tentacles sway gently. Same goes for all the Euphyllia sp.
