Hammer Frag

Hi I recently obtained a small hammer frag and it came off of the bone it was attached to. Doe's anyone know how I can reattach it to the bone without killing it?

I think you posted in the wrong forum. You would get more replies in reef discussion or lps. If the polyp (flesh part) poped off of it's skeleton it's done. You can't reatatch the flesh. You need to post all of your water peramiters - salinity, alk, calc, mag, ph, temp, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite. How did you aclimate it? There is a chance the skeleton may grow a new polyp so don't remove it.

This may have been caused from a low calcium source?

You can't, but if you will put it in a shallow glass bowl to keep it from blowing about and imitate my water parameters, it can lay down calcium and grow a new base.

Pictures are always a big help. Sometimes things look much worse then they are. Somebody here has had the same issue at one point or another. Sadly we all have killed thiings at some point.
