Hammer location?

Where do you find your hammers like to be placed.

My tank is a 120 4x2x2 with rock work that goes between 6-10 inches from surface. Light fixture is a coralife 2x96w actinic and 2x150w 10k MH. I don't run the mh much mostly actinics for now.

I have tried some different placements and my hammer seems semi happy with most of them. Right now he is at the bottom of the rock work in the sand. Do you guys find less flow better ?

I've found they are pretty versatile in terms of lighting. With MH it depends how high you have them over the tank. I've had mine 4" under the water in a MH frag tank. Part of it is also light acclimation. Move to more light slowly. If it bleaches move down or toward the corners of the tank. As for flow they like gentle sways. Wave makers are great for euphyllia in general. Just try not to jerk around the tentacles too much.

I find sand bed to mid tank is perfect. Gentle flow like the other posted suggested.

Lights are 4" of water so I have it midway now so my hammer is about 16" from lights ... mostly running actinics until I get my 14k bulbs I hate the old 10k I have now.

Yeah with 4" off the water I would keep them low/middle. Not a big fan of 10k either

Do you think it will be fine under just my 2x96w actinics ? I mean its out just not quite as much as when the mh is on
