I got a deal on this mini colony of 6 individual clusters on one chunk of LR
They are small but was under impression it was a Hammer. I still think it is but would love some confirmation

Thanks all:thumbsup: image.jpg

Something you might not know about that coral of yours. It looks a whole lot like a frogspawn that died. And then the skeleton spawned babies. There's a fancy science word for this but I forget it. LPS are known for the phenomenon. If that's the case, those small corals will drop off the main skeleton as they grow to be their own coral. And the original will be a baby coral factory for some time.

It is one of the coolest things in LPS keeping in my experience. I had a fungia skeleton that would do this and I LOVED having baby fungia all the time.

Good luck with your coral!

Hijacking OP's thread for a minute here. I just had one torch die and another going south( still trying to figure out what is going on). I did leave the skeleton of the dead one in the tank hoping some kind of revival. Are you saying I still have hopes my two corals will come from the dead and spit out baby corals??

Yes and no. They won't come back from the dead in as far as reoccupying their original skeletons. But they CAN pop babies out of the colony at random spots. Doesn't always happen, but it is certainly worth keeping them somewhere in decent conditions so they have a shot at it.

Leave them in your display as rubble if you can to give them a chance. Or in a refugium if it has decent light and cross your fingers. Good luck!
